The class

This technical class is based on exercises and phrases made to enhance the
connection between vertical and horizontal, mainly how to get down to
the floor and up to standing again, being energetically and
anatomically economical.
Inside this system on each class there is a special attention to one
joint or articulation, starting from the connection between the head and the neck and finishing with the ankle and feet.
The class starts with observation and manipulation of the articulation, looking at it’s behavior under different physical circumstances, then continues
with warm up exercises (from more general to specific). To put our
experience in action, it finishes with a dance phrase, that expands over the working period, allowing us to concentrate more and more on the movement.


The workshop

The final goal of this workshop is a fuller, more conscious, physical, solo improvisation “without mistakes” (this concerns mostly the connection between the feet and the floor, and not any subjective, aesthetical taste). Through group, couple and single exercises we are thriving to break our usual rhythm of movement, our commonplaces and to put our own style of dancing in a new light, using fully the 3 dimensions and expending our attention to the space we occupy, including ourselves.
Later on, to step up a level, we explore the possibilities in the connection with music, leaving the emphasis on physicality and not theatricality.
