FOREWORD to the 6th issue
May the source of content be of sound or to be spoken, inscribed in film, in flesh, performed or danced, SANG BLEU 6 will place the viewer in the situation of having to play his own part in turn, or at the very least of having to transcend a seeming “absence” this time. Putting the actual artwork aside, we will focus on its surrounding reality. Referencing Gustav Metzger (the seminal activist and pioneer of auto destructive art) talking about the act of exhibiting, SB6 will reaffirm that publishing should serve not to show things in a predefined physical space, but to realise them.
In our permanent quest for new horizons and avant-guarde content, we invited four fantastic people to work as guest editors for SANG BLEU 6. Focusing our perspective and digging deeper in Sang Bleu’s traditional domains of interest—fetish, art, fashion, tattooing and body art—we decided to set the bar to a new level by working exclusively with carefully selected contributors and publishing specifically commissioned and ambitious productions.
